As UCLan Students’ Union is a registered charity, we have a Board of Trustees who act as the governing body alongside our Articles of Association and Bye-laws. However, it’s students who truly lead the Union through the Elected Officer Team. These are students who are elected each year to promote and defend the rights of students, campaign on issues and ensure the University and Students’ Union puts students at the heart of decision making and feedback.
As a student-led organisation, our Board of Trustees is made up of the four Elected Officers, four External Trustees and four Student Trustees. This makes two thirds of the Board membership students and 50% of the Board elected by students in our annual spring elections.
