Welcome to MatSoc, the society for mature students here at UCLan!
There will be a £3 joining fee this year to assist with admin costs.
We will be updating the Facebook page and other socials closer to the start of term! Our preferred communication method is via WhatsApp and a new group chat will be launched at the start of terms for paid up members!
Our main objective for the society is forging new friendships and creating a community. We know that starting uni as a mature student can be daunting and we encourage people to meet and connect, enjoy days out and get involved in the local pub quiz! We have regular coffee meetups and may look to arranging some online activities for those who don't live on campus or in the Preston area.

Every year our Student Groups elect a new team of students to take their group into the new academic year. Being on a committee is a great way to become more involved with the community at UCLan, meet new friends and develop new and existing skills for your CV. Anyone can be on a committee, as long as you are a member of your Student Group. Students that are elected onto a committee through this election will start their role on 1st August 2024 until 31st July 2025. Could you be the next leader of your Student Group? Please note this is the final opportunity to become a Student Group committee member for this academic year.
