Welcome to the UCLAN Athletics,
First and foremost our club aims to provide an inclusive, welcoming and friendly atmosphere for all abilities. Whether you have experience running for an external club, or if you’re just interested in getting fit, we have sessions and coaching to suit you, and to ensure you feel part of our team.
Being a member of our team gives you the opportunity to compete at a wide range of events, from British University and College Sport Championships, cross-country races and relays, indoor and outdoor track events, to fun runs, local races and colour dashes! We organise and participate in events to suit all our members, with enthusiasm and self improvement being central to our priorities.
Although competitions provide our athletes with a chance to shine, our upmost importance is maintaining a sense of enjoyment. We want all members to feel positive about themselves, and their goals similary. As a team, we aim to achieve this, with the togetherness and spirit all members bring.
We have full access to a range of University facilities, and take advantage of UCLAN Sports Arena’s athletics track for a range of training sessions. Other locations such as Avenham Park provide ideal conditions for cross-country, interval, and hill training to boost stamina and strength.
Collaboration with experienced coaches at Preston Harriers Athletics Club also allows us to provide high quality, event-specific coaching, and sessions which effectively match your ability level. Athletes will forever be in the best of hands!
As a team, we also have various team building and social events that members are welcome to attend, to help boost team morale and ultimately to have fun!
