We, the students, are facing a cost of living crisis, with the Maintenance Loan failing to keep up with inflation. Many are working long hours alongside their study to make ends meet. International students from some countries face particular hardship because of a currency crisis in their home country. Without access to funding, some struggle to put food on the table.
My Idea
Introduce a Free Breakfast Club, providing students with healthy food (such as porridge and fruit) before they head to lecture.
Other Students' Unions, such as Warwick, Lancaster and Teesside, have introduced similar initiatives to support students in the cost of living crisis.
Bonus Reason
You can hang out with friends or meet other students from different backgrounds in the Free Breakfast Club. This would bring our university community together and combat loneliness!
