Why vote in the Students’ Union Elections?

It’s simple. Voting is your right! All UCLan students are automatically members of the Students’ Union and all students have a legal right to vote in our elections.

Just like voting in a general election, it’s so important that you have your say. The people you choose as your representatives will make all the difference for next year. It could mean that an event that you’re passionate about is held or that your Big Idea gets made into policy. Your vote matters!

When it comes to voting, you’ll want to vote for what you care about which is why it’s important to read candidates’ manifestos to find out more about why they’re running and what changes and ideas they would want to see implemented.

There’s lots of candidates and we want you to feel fully informed so all Full Time Elected Officer manifestos will be available for you to read on our website here  before voting opens on Monday 8th March. Manifestos for all each candidate running for the other roles will also be available when voting opens.

You can also find out more about the candidates running for Full Time Elected Officer and Students’ Council positions at the virtual Quiz the Candidates event on Thursday 4th March, 1.30pm – 3.30pm. You can access the Microsoft Teams link here, as well as being able to submit a question to the candidates.
