It’s that time of year again and we're so excited to welcome you (or welcome you back) to campus. Whilst you’re hopefully doing your university shopping and enjoying the last bits of summer, the Union are busy finalising an incredible line-up of Welcome events and getting everything ready for you here.

The Important stuff - University Information
We know you’re excited about events, but before you take a look at what we have on, familiarise yourself with the universities Student Hub. They’ll be using this signpost new (and returning) students to your key checklists, reminders about registration, and support numbers. Student Hub isn’t just used throughout Welcome though, the university will regularly use it throughout the year to keep you updated on new, events and services.

About us
Every student at The University of Lancashire is automatically a member of Lancashire Students’ Union, regardless of which campus they’re studying on. From the Union Reps and School Reps who help shape teaching and learning, or the Advice Centre which supports thousands of students each year, to the Sports Clubs and Societies who provide an opportunity for students to connect and feel part of the student community – your student experience matters to us.
As a Lancashire Students’ Union member you can:
- Vote and run for a position in the Students’ Union Elections
- Have your voice heard and represented
- Submit ideas and campaigns for positive change
- Access support from our free, independent and confidential Advice Service
- Join or start any Students’ Union Sports Clubs or Societies
- Get involved in our volunteering projects
- Socialise and relax in our social spaces

Events
What's Welcome Week without a full line-up of events for you to spend your time at and meet new people?
We've got quite a range of events specially curated for you. From a Vintage Thrift Sale, to an Edible Cinema, to a K-Pop night (yes we’ll be playing the soundtrack to K-Pop Demon Hunters), we think we've got something everyone will like.

Lampworks
Your student restaurant and bar! Open five days a week, Lampworks is your one stop place for eating, drinking, studying, playing games and socialising! - The chill atmosphere makes it the perfect place to meet up and hang. Cafe
Fresh pastries, warm bagels and the cheapest meal deal in Preston - need we say more!? Our Cafe is great for a quick pick-me-up before or between classes right in the centre of campus! Catch up with your mates or have a study sesh with our indoor and outdoor seating.
