We’re pleased to go live with our new Students’ Union brand this August.
The new brand reflects ten months of research, planning and design to create a new look for UCLan Students’ Union. The previous brand was over ten years old, and the new application breathes new life into all our visual deliverables. It will make it easier for students to know the events we are running through a series of distinctive elements and a bold new colour palette.
Work on the new brand started back in October 2020 with planning. We spoke to over 800 students through focus groups, surveys and testing exercises to incorporate their thoughts on how we should present ourselves and important values we should display. Our mission remains the same: to make life better for students, but our new brand allows us to position students at the heart of everything we do.
The implementation of the new brand will take a few months to fully roll-out across all areas of the Students’ Union, but students and staff should start to see this implemented immediately over our digital channels including social media and our website.
To save on resources and cost, the work was almost entirely led and delivered by the Students’ Union in-house Marketing and Communications Team who conducted research, developed the strategy and designed the final branding collateral.
Zuleikha Chikh, Students’ Union President said, “The new brand provides a fantastic platform for us to continue engaging with students and help us to deliver upon our strategic goals for 2024. The final result shows students the type of organisation we want to be and the importance we place of putting our members at the centre of everything we do.”
