We want you to join our Trustee Board as we look to recruit 5 new voluntary Student Trustees!

Here at UCLan Students’ Union we are constantly working towards our mission of making student life the best it can be. For over 60 years we have been working to support and empower our diverse student membership to achieve and be inspired to make the most out of their time at University. We help students make social change, advocate for the highest quality education and create spaces to for them to make connections that could last a lifetime

We’re governed by a board of up to 14 Trustees, who are all passionate about working together to help UCLan Students’ Union. By supporting our development and enabling us to meet the growing needs of our students and respond to any challenges that we might face in future years, you will be making a positive difference to all students here at UCLan Students’ Union.

The Board are the ultimate decision-making body and Student Trustees are extremely important and help to ensure the Board and its Committees understand issues from a student perspective.

Student Trustees ensure that student feedback is listened to and that all the decisions the Board makes are in the best interests of students.

This is a unique position of significant responsibility which will look fantastic on your CV. You'll gain excellent experience as well as expert training and support. As a Trustee, you'll oversee all Union activities and be able to review relevant activity in the best interests of the organisation and students.

As the Union strives to make the Board a diverse body that reflects the wider membership, the Union particularly welcomes applications from those who self-define as a person of colour (or have demonstrable experience improving the experience of people of colour).

Please note that you will need to attend Board meetings which are held 4 times per year, every 3 months and a strategic planning day once per year. There will also be the option to join sub-committees which take place 4 times a year.

This role of a Student Trustee is completely voluntary.

The deadline to apply is July 30th.
