Watch out Hollywood, the real awards season is about to hit UCLan with the 14th Annual Golden Roses Student Lead Teaching Awards.

Each year, we ask students to nominate UCLan Staff members for several awards to celebrate the hard work of staff, as well as helping us to understand what a quality student experience at UCLan looks like from the students’ perspective.

If a lecturer has shone ‘bright like a diamond’ – nominate them. If a department has been ‘simply the best’ – nominate them. If a member of staff has been your ‘bridge over troubled water’ – then nominate them – because we want to know!

The categories for this year’s awards are

· Lecturer of the Year

· Supporting the Student Experience Award – for Non-Teaching Staff

· Course Team of the Year

· Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Award

· University Service of the Year – for Non-Teaching Departments

· Academic Support Award – open to Teaching Staff and Student Coaches

· Outstanding Assessment and Feedback

· Postgraduate Support Award

· Excellence in Employability Award

· Student Voice Award

· School of The Year – this is based on the quality of nominations received by the School in all other relevant categories.

We will also be hosting our Burnley Campus Golden Roses with the following Award Categories:

· Lecturer of the Year - Nominations will also be combined with the UCLan Golden Roses Lecturer of the Year award.

· Supporting the Student Experience Award - Nominations will also be combined with the UCLan Golden Roses Student Voice Award.

· Above and Beyond Award - Nominations will also be combined with the UCLan Golden Roses in the Supporting the Student Experience Award if non-teaching nomination or the Academic Support award for teaching staff

The Burnley Awards will be presented with a lovely lunchtime awards ceremony in Burnley on April 19th 2023 at 12:30pm. We hope to have the shortlist announced by April 14th, 2023, on the SU Website.

The Preston Awards will be presented with a fabulous late afternoon celebration on April 27th 2023 at 4pm. We hope to have the shortlist announced by April 20th, 2023, on the SU Website.
