Students taking part in the virtual tea party

On Wednesday 21st April, UCLan Students’ Union Guide Dogs Society and RAG Community joined Guide Dogs UK for The Great Guide Dogs Tea Party to try and set a new Guinness World Record, asking people to post photos of themselves enjoying a National Tea Day virtual tea party!

This year Guide Dogs UK were hoping to beat the record they achieved in 2020 of 4021 photos. Unfortunately, they didn’t surpass their existing World Record, but remain the official record holders for the world’s biggest virtual tea party!

Check out all the photos and fun from the event here.

Guide Dogs UK also raised charity funds from the event, by asking people to donate the cost of their cuppa to support those with sight loss, saying:

‘The last 12 months has been hard on us all, but for people with sight loss social isolation can be their every day.’

You can still donate to the cause at guidedogs.org.uk/donate or by text:

To donate £10 text GUIDE10 to 70099

To donate £5 text GUIDE5 to 70099

Or to donate £2 text GUIDE to 70099

We can’t wait to see all the events our Clubs, Societies and RAG community organise next year!
