Hello, my name is Jayantika, a current 4th year med student and the previous Vice chair of cardiothoracic society. This year I am running for Chair of cardiothoracic society alongside Leha - who is running for Vice-Chair of the society.
Having been part of the committee previously, we want to continue with and improvise some of the events held last year as well as bring to you more hands-on and interesting workshops this year. Following are some of the events and worshops we have planned for the upcoming year!
1. Suture skills workshops - basic advanced, surgeon and peer led
2. Cardiothoracic research projects - 2 projects underway with student allocation open
3. Portfolio talks from CS surgeons with the opportunity for one-on-one feedback for your CV
4. Workshops focused on surgical anatomy of the heart
5. In-person and online OSCE simulations workshops
6. Collaborate with other relevant societies to bring to you workshops /conference with CPD points.
7. Phase 1 teaching sessions focused on everything cardiac.
