Candidate for the position of Rugby Union - Men - Chair

Samuel Billington

During my three years with Men's Rugby Union, I've always felt like a part of a team, and this last year as Vice Chair, I feel as though I have been a part of the reason the club feels so together. Over the last year, we have developed and grown as a club and as a committee and I want to take that one step further next year as the chair of Men's Rugby Union. I'll push to gain more training for the club, development fixtures, more gym sessions and more. We want to gain a promotion, and in developing training options, I feel that we have a solid base and chance for this. Alongside this, I'll push for more sponsors, engagement, and to develop the club outside of fixtures as well. I want to develop the club further, ensuring everyone has a chance and option to play for us and with us and to feel like part of the team. I feel as though my experience as Vice Chair sets me up for this role to be undertaken in my final year at UCLan alongside helping players and other committee members to develop their skills so that the team and committee can remain running smoothly when the current final years move on. I have a lot of ideas and possibilities that I want to explore with the club to overall improve on what is already a solid team in order to reach the goals and aspirations all of us as a team share.
