Abi Crane

Hello, I'm Abi Crane and I believe I should be this year's Chair for UCLan Tigers. I'm currently in my second year and have absolutely loved being part of the Tigers family!

Cheer has been a big part of my life. I absolutely love it and have been competing since I was 5. As well as competitive cheer I cheered for Saints RLFC spending many nights dancing on the pitch and became a coach at their camps providing inclusive cheer/dance activities in the community.

I would make a good Chair as I’m approachable, organised, and have a passion for cheer and the team; all crucial skills for being part of a committee. With my experience as Vice Chair/Captain and my years of cheerleading/coaching, I believe I have transferable leadership skills to help run the club effectively. For example, when overseeing stash, I ensured everything was ordered/sorted correctly, which would help me with tasks like creating the calendar, to a high standard.

Also, as Captain I’ve been here to support you all, so I could implement this into this role; ensuring committee members are happy with their workload, helping them if needed, and helping freshers/returners express any ideas/concerns in a safe environment and make these heard in committee meetings.

This experience will help me to be successful in this role- allowing me to become a good leader, and a person you can turn to. I'm reliable and will always do my best for the team.

Thanks for everything so far!

Abi
