Candidate for the position of Cardiology society - Vice Chair

Svetha Ravindran

I would like to run as the vice chair of the cardiology society as I have a keen intrest in cardiology, and would like to share my passion with other students!

I beleive I am suited for this role due to my past experiences as a leader (which you can read more about below) and have experiences running events at the university. Through my past experiences in the BRC society and UCLan Marrow I have learned how to lead a group and be a team player.

My aim as vice-chair is to:

1. Organise more teaching sessions for cardiology conditions to students

2. Organise confrences with other cardiology societies where students can present their research and invite speakers from Northern universities

3. Allow students to connect with cardiologists and learn more about the career and it's challanges!

PAST EXPERIENCES AS A LEADER AND TEAM PLAYER:

I am pleased to have founded the British Red Cross Society and was able to successfully run 4 successful events with a team of enthusiastic individuals.

Already we have:

  • Made a group of volunteers ready to uphold the BRC values
  • Raised 169.70 pounds from our Bake Sale
  • Ran our first ever BLS training event
  • Recruited 17 students to the NHS Blood Donation services!

Was part of the UCLan Marrow team for 2 years as a volunteer and outreach co-ordinator

Was part of a nationwide society, The British Medical Association as a blog author
