As a 2nd year medical student (going into 3rd year) and a technology enthusiast, I believe that the MedTech Society has to be a hub for using the latest technology to improve medical education and shape future healthcare. As an avid technology geek, especially in hardware technology, I wish to explore this field more and share my interests with others by hosting various keynotes, workshops, and hands-on experiences with some of the latest technology. Surgery is a field that as a medical student is hard to get enough exposure to, and I wish to improve this aspect of medical education with the help of VR and introduce it with the help of workshops and social events.
Why me:
- I have a deep interest in technology and am passionate about its intersection with medicine to improve medical education (with a focus on surgery) and healthcare experience
- I am committed to listening to the interests of members and creating a member-driven society, where the interests of members guide our events
My Plan:
- Regular workshops, and keynotes introducing new technologies and their practical applications
- Talks to understand VR and its impact on medical education and patients
- Hold competitive events (eg: hackathons) to bring the best out of the community
Medical technology can revolutionise the medical field. I will ensure that the members are not just observers but are active participants in shaping this field in our University.
