Candidate for the position of ADHD and Neurodivergent Society - Chair

Abigail Swallow

Hi, I'm Abby, and I'm currently in my third year of nursing, waiting to start my Master in September. I've been a part of the neurodivergent society for the past year, and it's a fantastic opportunity to meet like-minded people and feel comfortable on campus. My hope for this coming year is that the society can act as safe space for those who are neurodivergent, giving both practical and social support. Neurodivergence covers so many conditions and traits, and it can be difficult for people to understand its complexities when they have no experience or drive to adapt and learn. I have volunteered to help with many social events the past year, and have been consistently committed to meeting people's preferences and needs. I hope to develop the society further as chair, letting students know more about the society and offering more support where possible. I have made so many close friends (who I now spend most of my time with!) and learnt so much about others experiences, and I hope I can help others to have same the friendships and positive memories.
