Hello! I am Siddharth Uma Rajah, and I am a second-year medical student, going into my third year soon. As a candidate for the Phase 2 Representative role in the Undergraduate Medical Research Society, I am passionate about amplifying the voices of members and students by building a bridge to fill the gap between the research community and students of Phase 2.
My plan:
- I will be based out of UCLan's Westlakes Campus in Whitehaven next year. I believe this can give me the perfect opportunity to be a bridge in communicating the needs of Phase 2 students from both campuses, making sure everyone feels included.
- Plan to set up talks and tutorials on the usage to learn different statistical software languages (R, SPSS) essential for research.
- Work more closely with the university and different societies, to hold various interesting events showing links between different fields.
- Hold talks on how to start research in university, and build a network.
By empowering students with research skills, and fostering connections. I want to ignite the research passions within our students, thereby creating a thriving research environment, no matter the campus.
