I am writing this manifesto to express my interest in the Chair position of the Indian Society at UCLan for the coming academic year.
I took over as the Chair of the Indian Society this year with the aim of rejuvenating a society with a very large following that required more incentive to be brought together through group activities and events. I worked very hard with my committee to make the society grow and to create a harmonious community of Indian students at UCLan.
It was hard to balance chairing a society alongside studies. The process of running a society was also a learning process for me and the rest of my committee as we were new to the field. I believe that having a years experience under my belt now makes me a good candidate to run for the position again and hopefully improving and learning from my mistakes in order to build the society further and create a network within the Indian Community at UCLan.
