The club aims to teach Shotokan Karate in a traditional Japanese way using the principles of humility, respect, compassion, patience, and both an inward and outward calmness. We are open to anyone with any interest in Martial Arts. No previous experience is necessary and any Martial Art background is welcome.
By joining the club we would provide a hard working but relaxed atmosphere for you to develop your Martial Arts skills. You will hopefully gain an increased awareness of self-defense and improve your fitness levels.
Training takes place in the Sir Tom Finney Sports Centre- Studio Blue Monday 7:15-9:30 pm and Studio Red Tuesday 5-7pm
Every year our Student Groups elect a new team of students to take their group into the new academic year. Being on a committee is a great way to become more involved with the community at UCLan, meet new friends and develop new and existing skills for your CV. Anyone can be on a committee, as long as you are a member of your Student Group. Students that are elected onto a committee through this election will start their role on 1st August 2024 until 31st July 2025. Could you be the next leader of your Student Group? Please note this is the final opportunity to become a Student Group committee member for this academic year.
