Eating Disorders

Anyone can develop an eating disorder, regardless of age, sex, cultural or racial background. Eating disorders include anorexia, bulimia, compulsive eating and binge eating. If you think you or a friend may have a problem with food or would like more information we have some useful links within this section.

If you think you have a problem with food and you would like more information or to speak to someone contact the UCLan counselling team, a Mental Health Advisor, your GP or B-eat.

BEAT provides helplines, online support and a network of UK-wide self-help groups to help adults and young people in the UK beat their eating disorders. They help people understand why they may have an eating disorder, offer a range of resources and ways to gain support and advice. They run an online community that provides people with a place to share experience and, support and work towards recovery.
