After 2 years with no Varsity the time has come for us to defend the trophy. 22 teams ready to fight for victory.
But wait, what is Varsity?
Varsity is the biggest sporting fixture in our calendar and is played at the end of the BUCS season against Edge Hill University’s Sports Clubs. We'll be going head-to-head in a range of sports- from football and netball, to rugby, basketball and more, with each fixture and event contributing to the final, overall score – and our UCLan Students' Union Clubs are ready for the hard fight towards victory!
On the 30th March 2022, our Sports Clubs and Teams will be making the journey over to Edge Hill University to compete for this year’s Varsity trophy.
Even if you can't make it in person to Ormskirk, we’ll be looking for your support on the day online!

The pandemic has meant we have not had an in-person Varsity since 2019, where UCLan lifted the trophy for the first time since 2015.
No longer the black and red army, UCLan are ready to suit up in their new blue kit and play with pride and passion to bring that trophy home once again- where it belongs!
