The NUS is organising a ‘Walk Out // Teach In’ strike for students on the 2nd of March at Torrington Square in Bloomsbury, London. The aim of the strike is for students, officers, and activists from across the country to celebrate the collective power of the NUS movement and reunite to reimagine the broken system and build the #NewVisionForEducation for students.

We understand that many of our students would be interested in taking part in the strike. If you wish to attend, there are centrally organised coaches by the NUS which will be leaving from Manchester Metropolitan University at 7am tomorrow. Charitable donations will be needed to reserve a seat on a coach and the money raised would be used for student-led campaigns. You can reserve a seat here

If you would be unable to join the strike in London but would still like to get involved, the NUS has put together a Supporter Communications Toolkit containing campaign messaging and graphics that can be shared on social media, website and digital channels as well.

The safety of our student is paramount to us, and we encourage all students planning on attending the strike to do a lateral flow test before they depart. The NUS has reassured us that all sites will have step-free access, onsite toilets – including physically-accessible toilets with baby-changing facilities – as well as dedicated staff for wellbeing and first aid cover.

If you plan on attending the strike in London, could you please fill out this form.
