Decolonise the Curriculum Video Recruitment

We’ll be re-launching the Students’ Union ‘Decolonise the Curriculum’ campaign in the new academic year and are looking for students to participate in a video project as part of the re-launch.

The video will launch the week commencing 11th October 2021 and we’re looking to film with students between Monday 20th September – Monday 4th October.

We would like to hear from black or Asian students about their academic experiences or their thoughts on the importance of decolonising the curriculum at UCLan. This video aims to highlight the need for a more diverse, inclusive curriculum that is reflective of the student body. It will be published on the UCLan Students’ Union website and social media channels, as well as social spaces around campus.

Filming will take place on campus, but for those unable to access the campus we can find an alternative way of recording – for example, through MS Teams or Zoom. The video will be filmed and edited by Students’ Union staff, with content led by Odette, VP Welfare and Usman, VP Education. There will also be support staff available.

If you are passionate about making change and would like to be involved in the video, please complete the short online form here as soon as possible and we will get back to you to arrange a date and time.
