How to get here by train
The train station in Preston is large and operates services throughout the day which go north to Edinburgh, south to London and east to Manchester every hour. Tickets and times can be found here: www.nationalrail.co.uk
How to get here from the train station
From the train station it is only a 15-20 minute walk to the Student’s Union. Simply leave the train station through the main entrance, turn right at the top of the hill. Turn left towards the Ringway, where you will see a red building (Staples) at the bottom of the hill. Walk towards Staples, crossing at either of the different sets of lights. With Staples on your right, walk up Corporation Street (for approx.. 10 minutes), eventually passing the large roundabout and continuing up the hill. The Students’ Union will be over the road on your right, next to the church.
How to get here by bus
Preston has a very strong bus network, with most services running a bus every 7-10 minutes. The bus station can be found in the town centre, 15 minutes from campus. Bus times and routes can be found here: www.transportforlancashire.com
Note that buses 23, 31/31A, 44 and 35 all stop on or very near to campus. 23 stops by the library and also opposite Brook Building, while 31/31A, 44 and 35 all stop opposite the Student’s Union. If you get the 23, it is a simple matter to get off at the library and walk to the Union around the back of the library.
How to get here from the bus station
From the bus station it is a 15-20 minute walk to the Union. Leave the bus station either via the subway or cross the road towards St John’s Shopping Centre. Walking either through or around St. Johns, walk away from the station and you will find Lancaster Rd and the outdoor market area. Walk straight across towards Gregg’s Bakery and go down that road. Turn right onto Friargate and follow the road over a set of crossroads. You will pass a Wetherspoons. Keep walking (for a further 5-10 minutes), and you will eventually cross the roundabout. Continue up the hill, past The Adelphi pub. Turn left after the library.

Between the Guild Wheel and the various other routes around Preston, there are plenty of routes that a cyclist may take. Many of the paths are maintained well, and the quieter roads are safe for a cyclist wearing high-visibility clothing and protective gear.

How to get here by car
The University is signposted from Junctions 29, 31 and 32 of the M6 which are the easiest approach routes.
From Preston City Centre, follow the yellow AA signs to the University.
