Fiona Bone - A Tribute

Our thoughts and prayers are with all the friends and family that knew the two police officers.

Within NUS, there has always been debate over how we should react to the police. The police were seen to be 'heavy handed' in the demo for example.

However, although there can sometimes be clashes between students and the police, I don't think any student in their right mind would support what happened to the police officers in Manchester the other day.

Fiona Bone was a large part of the life in the Students' Union and was captain of the Rugby Team in her time at UCLan.

UCLan Students' Union would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the family of Fiona Bone and would like to stand in solidarity with the Greater Manchester Police in bringing justice for this crime.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all the friends and family that knew the two police officers.

On behalf of UCLan Students' Union
Edd Graham-Hyde, President.
