UCLan Students’ Union Student Affairs Committee strongly condemn the series of highly offensive tweets which have emerged on Twitter from our current Education Officer today.
We find his comments totally reprehensible and we do not support them professionally or personally.
We find these comments both morally abhorrent and repugnant.
The officer has tendered a complete and unequivocal apology for his actions and bitterly regrets sending anything that would upset or distress any people at this very sensitive time.
The officer tweeted an apology within ten minutes of the initial tweets and furthermore has closed the account down.
We wish to make it clear that the matter is now part of our disciplinary procedures and it would not be appropriate to comment further at this time.
