Are you struggling to submit work in on time? Have you been accused of plagiarism? Want to change course? There are lots of different hurdles that can be put in the way of students but we’re always here to help you. From attending appeals to helping you put in complaints, the advisers are here to make sure you get the most out of your University experience.

Below you will find very basic advice on different issues you may face but this is general advice that is there to guide you. If you have any of these issues you’re best coming in and seeing an adviser. Our drop-ins run Monday – Friday 11- 3pm and we offer free and confidential advice.

  • Appeals

    If you are unhappy with your results and feel that you could appeal under one of the four grounds.
  • Complaints

    If you are unhappy with any service or facility provided by the university then you may lodge a complaint under the universities complaints procedure.
  • Disciplinary / Fitness to Practice

    Any allegations of misconduct by a student enrolled at UCLan will be investigated in line with the universities disciplinary procedure.
  • Extenuating Circumstances

    If you believe your academic performance has been affected by serious or exceptional factors beyond your control then you should use the university extenuating circumstances procedure.
  • Nursing Discontinuations

    If a nursing student fails a piece of work twice they will be asked to attend a discontinuation meeting.
  • Plagarism

    The academic equivalent of diving in the penalty area, plagaism is any deliberate attempt to deceive.
