Welcome weekend at the Union

Get ready to celebrate the start of the new UCLan term
Welcome weekend kicks off at the Students' Union this weekend and we've got a host of events on offer.
For those of you moving in on Saturday 12th September, or who are eager and already on campus, you've got the Welcome Clubnight in 53 Degrees with DJs playing a mix of r'n'b, chart and indie. The night is sponsored by Sourz, so expect great drinks offers.
For something a bit different, upstairs at 53 Degrees we've got local singer-songwriter Mike Dignam and he's followed by industrial, 80s, goth club night, Dark-Cide.
During the day the Student Affairs Committee and welcome teams will be on hand to help you move into your accommodation and answer any questions you might have about life at university.
On Sunday 13th September the Union welcomes you to SUnday, a chance to find out more about the Union and have a go on the bungee run. There will be a BBQ, giant games like jenga and connect 4 and the chance to meet the Student Affairs Committee. The money buddies will also be around and about answering your questions about student finance.
In the evening The Opener will see all the new students come together in 53 Degrees and party the night away to celebrate the start of the first semester, downstairs DJs Gaz Maxwell and Anton Anders will play 90s, dance, r'n'b while upstairs DJ John Crossley and Frequency Radio DJs drop indie, dubstep and electro. The Opener is in association with Sourz and Frequency Radio.
Don't forget over the first weekend to text INTRO to 87474, it's free and means you'll get updates throughout the first few weeks of university about all the events that are happening and special offers and discounts. See the terms and conditions for the Intro SMS Service.
