Union launches Intro text service

Text INTRO to 87474 for the latest updates

The Union has launched its Intro text service, offering students the chance to be the first to know about Intro events and special offers.

By texting INTRO to 87474 for free students will be opted in to receive messages direct to their inbox and be reminded about big events such as Intro Fair and Promo.

53 Degrees will also be offering exclusive offers to students who text in, including ticket competitions and special offers for events during the first few weeks of terms.

Union President, Beth Woodthorpe-Evans, is excited about the use of new technology to connect with students.

She said: “The new Intro SMS service is going to be a fantastic way that the Union can keep new students up to date with what’s going on around the Union.

“I think all students will benefit from the service in some way and should opt in to receive the messages. It’s not just going to be drinks promotions after all, there will be updates about all the amazing Intro fairs we have planned and about the NUS Extra card.

“I have already opted in and can’t wait to receive all the latest news right to my phone!”
