Bronze medal won in Loughborough

The Union's trampolining club have enjoyed a great start to the year including three medals at national and regional competitions.

The team went to Loughborough on November 15th and kicked off the competing season with scholarship trampolinist Jennifer Lace picking up the bronze medal position in the inter-advanced category, with Katie Spiller coming a close fourth position.

Lindsey Buckley bounced her way to a sixth placed position out of 88 competitors in the intermediate category. A great weekend of trampolining ended with a social hosted by Loughborough Students, seeing a gathering of 300 trampolinists in fancy dress in Loughborough.

The Preston City Competition, which took place on November 22nd, saw Jennie Spiller scoop a bronze medal in the advanced category and Jonathon Wort picked up a silver in the intermediate categories. This was a local competition against all trampolining clubs in the area including Lancaster University.

The club are currently preparing for the third competition hosted by Manchester University on December 5th. Big things are happening within the club who are to host the National Universities Competition here at UCLan on January 30-31 2010. Anyone who would like to get involved such as events management students or people wanting to help should email uclantrampoline@hotmail.com.

Trampolining is a great way to meet friends at UCLan and other universities around the country, whilst keeping fit and having fun! If you would like to join the club or just know more, please email uclantrampoline@hotmail.com
