Students from martial arts clubs have joined together online |
Created by Greg Marl, chairperson of the kung fu club, it allows all members of a martial arts club to sign up and join in.
The group has already attracted over 70 members and a social event was organised.
Marl said: "All martial arts groups showed an interest from the start to network together. I proposed the idea that we should all go on a night out. I am pleased to let you know that after over a month of organising, the night out went ahead last night and was a complete success!
"In the history of the clubs, no event were different martial art clubs went out together has ever happened before. I feel this is a fantastic achievement, and hopefully, this is only the start of it."
Marl now hopes that the group can be used to raise the awareness of martial arts at UCLan and help clubs to attract new members.
The clubs signed up to the network include kung fu, karate, taekwondo and ju jitsu.
