Union Education officer urges students to fill in survey

The Union's Education officer Lindsay Bradley is urging students to fill in a survey from the British Youth Council about the economy.

The survey asks for young people's experiences of getting work, getting paid and going out.

The recession has impacted heavily on young people with jobs being lost and universities unable to keep up with the demand for places.

Bradley says: "We all know that the UK economy has been going through tough times. The recession has hit us as students hard, resulting in high youth unemployment and impacting on the number of university places available. The experiences and opinions of young people need to be heard now more than ever on the issues that are affecting their everyday lives. The British Youth Council (BYC) will be feeding back the survey results directly to the Government’s Cabinet Office for the Third Sector alongside other decision-makers; including the Low Pay Commission and MPs and Peers in the All Party Parliamentary Group on Youth Affairs."

By filling in the survey you could also win a year's subscription to a magazine of your choice, a great way keep up to date on politics, fashion, music, sport or whatever else you're interested in.

The survey closes on Sunday 20th September 2009 at midnight.
