Film society launches programme

Showings confirmed for year ahead
The Union Film Society has unveiled what films it will be showing for the year ahead.
It will launch with the D.vercity Festival showing Frida Kahle's Corset and Heavy Load: A Film About Happiness over the Bank Holiday Weekend.
The society will be showing smash-hit Slumdog Millionaire at Student Activities Fair and in October a whole raft of films will be hitting the Mitchell & Kenyon cinema screen including Sling Blade and Transamerica.
A Halloween Special on Thursday 29th October with Shadow of the Vampire will be a highlight, showing alongside films that will celebrate Black History Month..
2010 will see science fiction with Sunshine, a romantic evening with Amelie and the surreal hit Being John Malkovich.
