Eating
The Students’ Union at the heart of the Preston campus is the first place to fill up. The Atrium offers healthy dishes and Source provides your pub grub. There’s also Essentials if you want to pick-up a quick snack, with the excellent value meal deal (sandwich, drink and crisps for £2.89).
Preston is not short of a decent restaurant or two, ranging from a cheap meal for two to a lavish three-course meal. A lot of restaurants will offer student discount, so make sure you get your NUS Extra card and ask if discount is available when being seated at your table – a lot of restaurants will not give discount once the meal is ordered. Take a look at our map of where restaurants are in Preston.
Restaurants in the city tend to be clustered around the city centre, but Friargate (the road between the University and the city centre) is increasingly home to good-value restaurants.
Restaurants can also be good places to find a part-time job, so keep your eye out for notices in the windows or check out The Bridge, the Union’s student employment service, for the latest vacancies.
