Volunteering
Volunteering can be a really fun and valuable experience. You can use your skills to help others and develop new skills at the same time. The best thing about volunteering is you'll feel good doing something for other people knowing that you're not doing it for financial reward.
The Students' Union offers a range of opportunities for you to become a volunteer and help your fellow students. Voluntary positions available are: Course Representatives and School Representatives, Student Council, Media Volunteers, Club & Society Forum leaders, Club and Society committee volunteers and Students' Union trustees.
The ways in which you can become one of these volunteers varies. For representative positions and the club and society positions you need to be elected to the position by your fellow course, club or society members. For media volunteers you can apply at any time throughout the year via the Media Officer. For Students' Union Trustee positions, these become available once a year and you can apply via The Bridge.
Throughout the year we also have other internal voluntary positions. Keep referring to The Bridge jobs section where you details of these as and when they come up. Current positions include volunteers to help run our Social Sports Sundays sessions and photographers for Give it a Go! We also look for volunteers to help us to run campaigns and help to put together events on the Give it a Go! programme such as Chinese New Year.
